Into the great dunes of Erg Chebbi

This is our most popular private desert tour. Over three days you cross the High Atlas, follow the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs and reach Merzouga, where the towering orange dunes of Erg Chebbi rise up to 150 m.

You’ll ride camels into the dunes at sunset, enjoy dinner and Berber drumming around the fire and sleep in a desert camp under a sky full of stars, before watching the sunrise from the top of a dune.

Day-by-day itinerary

1. D1

   Marrakech – Dades Gorges

   Pick-up and crossing of the Tizi n’Tichka pass. Stop at Ait Benhaddou, visit Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate and continue through the Valley of Roses to the Dades Valley for the night.

2. D2

   Dades – Merzouga

   Visit the Todra Gorge near Tinghir, then drive via Tinjdad, Erfoud and Rissani to Merzouga. Camel ride into the dunes for sunset, dinner, music and a night in the desert camp.

3. D3

   Merzouga – Marrakech

   Sunrise over the dunes and breakfast. Long scenic drive back via Alnif, Tazarine and the Draa Valley, arriving in Marrakech in the evening.
