Ouzoud Waterfalls Day Trip

A refreshing escape to the Middle Atlas

Around 150 km north-east of Marrakech, the Ouzoud Falls tumble in several tiers into a deep green gorge. Your private driver collects you at your hotel and takes you through the Atlas foothills and traditional Berber villages to the village of Tanaghmeilt, perched at the top of the falls.

With a local guide you walk down the shaded path past old water mills, olive and fig trees, to the foot of the cascades where colourful boats take you close to the spray. Enjoy lunch on a terrace with a view, swim in the cool river in summer and spot the wild monkeys before your comfortable ride back to Marrakech.

Program of the day

1. 08:00

   Hotel pick-up

   Your driver meets you at your hotel or riad around 8:00 in a private air-conditioned vehicle.

2. ≈2h30

   Scenic drive

   Cross the Haouz plain and Atlas foothills, with a coffee and photo stop in a Berber village.

3. 11:00

   Guided walk to the falls

   Meet your local guide in Ouzoud and walk down to the cascades, past water mills and viewpoints.

4. 13:00

   Boat ride & lunch

   Take a small boat to the foot of the falls, then enjoy a Moroccan lunch on a riverside terrace.

5. 15:00

   Monkeys & free time

   Walk up the other side of the gorge to meet the Barbary macaques and enjoy free time.

6. 18:30

   Return to Marrakech

   Relaxed drive back with drop-off at your accommodation in the early evening.
